My little dude turned three today...I cannot believe that my baby is no longer a baby. *sigh*
I had a proud mommy moment this morning when I dropped him off at school. Mommy brag coming...
I signed him in and went into his classroom. The assistant teacher for his class was doing circle time with the rest of his classmates. I told her that it was Conner's birthday and that I had brought cupcakes for his little birthday party. She asked Conner how old he was. Conner said three. She asked him again. Conner said three. She said, "Conner, are you sure you're three and not four?" He said, "No, I'm three."
So now she looks up at me and I told her he was right, that he just turned three today. She looked at me with her mouth open and told me that she assumed he was turning four and the oldest in the class. When in fact, he's the youngest. See, normally kids aren't supposed to start in the preschool class until they are three. But we started Conner at 2 1/2 as he was clearly ready and asking to be moved up. He was bored in the two's class. And since he was fully potty trained, we tried it out. He did great that first week and has been in there ever since.
So it makes me super proud of my little guy that his teacher thought he was a year older! She told me since he speaks so well, gets along great with the other kids and has been totally potty trained, she just assumed he was older.
That's my boy! :-)
Later that day, I picked him up from school and for dinner, we headed to Chick-fil-a. Conner loves chicken nuggets so that was the gourmet eating we did for the night. He got his chicken nuggets and then got to play in the big play area.
Then we headed home to play with his new toys and sing Happy Birthday and let him eat his cupcake. I bought him this G-normous cupcake. The thing almost took up the whole plate. I figured we'd just celebrate his actual birthday with the three of us and a cupcake. Then we'd have his whole shebang party tomorrow with all the relatives, friends and big dinosaur cake.
He licked some of the frosting off but then didn't want anything else to do with the cake.
Three-year-olds... ;-)
More pics to come later this weekend. This mommy is tired and has to prepare for 16 screaming kids at his party tomorrow.
Goodnight!
