Late bloomer

I love my plants, and unlike my mother, have a very green thumb. I keep all different types of plants, but one of my favorite plants has been the corn plant. I have them all over our house. I usually will get the corn plants cheap from some place like Lowes or Home Depot. They're usually pretty sickly and not so well taken care of. But I nurse them back and they thrive in my care.

But I have never seen a corn plant bloom. And several of my hubby's relatives also care for corn plants and have never seen them bloom.

Much to my amazement a few days ago, this is what I noticed about two of my corn plants...

   

My corn plants bloomed!!!

So I gave myself a little pat on the back and feel pretty darn good that the plant is happy enough that it'll bloom for me.

And it also helps when the hubby says it's good luck that it bloomed. Good luck couldn't be coming at a more appropriate point in our lives!
